Well, we've reached that time of year now where one can hardly walk outside without seeing one of these fellows sunbathing on the brick walls. So today I took the opportunity to photograph one of one. I found him quite photogenic, and he behaved very comfortably in front of the camera, though he did seem to keep one wary eye on the dog.

What is your camera model and lens? I am amazed by how sharp this photo is! The details just popped up and the color stands out. Although I'm looking for a photo booth rental in Perth, I might invest on my own camera soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking the time to comment. The photo was taken with a Canon T2i (although its called the Canon 550D in your part of the world) and a Tamron 70-300mm f/4-5.6 LD Di Macro lens. Although the lens allows for close-focusing "macro" work from 180-300mm, it is not a notably sharp lens at those focal lengths. It requires stopping the lens down to f/8-11, and the use of a tripod to get decent results. The tripod is also necessitated because this version of the lens doesn't have Image Stabilization.
