Highly Dynamic Pond in Walker County, Alabama

There was a lot of color and contrast in this scene that I really wanted to bring out. And with the clouds being so bright and the foliage being significantly darker, the best way to go seemed to be multi-exposure bracketing that is often known as HDR.

This is one of several photographs made on a visit to Marion County. All this driving around the state for work-related purposes, really seems to be working in my photographic favor.

The Heavens are Ablaze

The heavens are ablaze with amber light
The morning star has ruptured
Its embers setting fire
to kindling clouds
A rampant conflagration that abates
only as flaming fingers
reach the western horizon

Partly Cloudy on the Warrior

The photo I posted on Sunday of Buckshort Bridge reminded me of another photo I had previously taken at the Warrior River. This one was taken during the fall of 2010, during a hike. I really like this photo because of the clouds; I really feel like they make this shot.
